We are excited to announce the Seventh Annual Big Tom Classic Golf TournamentThe Big Tom Classic has been a huge success for the past three years and the reason for that success is you, our players and sponsors. Over the past five years, the Big Tom Classic has raised over $75,000. True to the Tournament’s mission, these funds have been effectively used to aid in stroke research, stroke treatment and to promote public awareness. Last year, the organizers of the Big Tom Classic, in collaboration with the Mission Healthcare Foundation, produced a stroke education DVD specific to our region. The video utilizes local doctors and local stroke survivors to educate the public about stroke prevention and treatment. Currently, the DVD is being distributed to individuals and families of individuals that have suffered strokes. The Tournament and the funds raised have also aided in making Mission Hospital the first certified Stroke Center in Western North Carolina. We could not be more excited about the growing success of the Tournament and what it accomplished in such a short time. Friday May 11th, 2012 Tournament registration will begin at 12:00 PM to be followed by a 1:00 PM shotgun start. The beneficiary of the tournament will remain the Mission
Healthcare Foundation. The Tournament will continue to provide
funds to promote awareness, develop more innovative and
effective treatment methods, and assist underprivileged patients
with treatment. The cost for players will be $115 a person, which includes green fees, cart fees, golf hat, lunch and a dinner following the tournament. Awards will be given during the dinner. |
